Ron is a successful executive with 25 years of experience with leading CPG firms. He has significant global leadership expertise building brands and organizations in the food, healthcare and sporting goods sectors. Ron has a strong track record of success transforming organizational leading to breakthrough business growth in private equity, family and publicly traded businesses. He has expertise in business and brand strategy, organizational design, product development/brand extensions, customer marketing, strategic partnerships, and M&A activities.
Prior to joining NorthStar, Ron was President and General Manager of PRADCO Outdoor Brands. PRADVCO is a privately held portfolio of 25 leading hunting and fishing brands including Moultrie, Summit, Rebel, Lindy, and Booyah. He is responsible for setting the business vision, defining differentiated strategies, managing the full P/L to deliver profitable business growth and optimizing operations of the business globally.
Previously, Ron was the CMP/EVP of Yakima Products, Inc. Under his leadership the company transformed into a global business, transitioned from private equity to new strategic ownership. Sales more than doubled and EBITDA grew by 800% with growth coming organically as well as via acquisitions.
Ron began his sporting good career at Pure Fishing. During his tenure as VP Sales and EVP North America, the business transitioned from family ownership to private equity and culminated with a sale to Jarden in 2007. Pure Fishing is the world’s largest fishing tackle company.
Ron began his career with leading Fortune 50 firms (Frito-Lay, Kraft Foods, Schering-Plough and Wrigley) in a variety of sales, category management and customer marketing roles.
Ron has been a board member of the Boy Scouts of America. He is a former member of the Congressional Sportsman’s Foundation, Outdoor Industry Association and American Sportfishing Association.
Ron holds a Marketing degree from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona and an MBA from University of California, Irvine and resides in Birmingham, Alabama.
